Private Non-Profit Issues: Fiscal, Identification, Services
PRIVATE NON-PROFIT SCHOOLS
Under Title I, Part A, local education agencies, or LEAs, are required to provide services for eligible private school students, as well as eligible public school students. In particular, Public Law 107-110, Section 1120 No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requires a participating LEA to provide eligible children attending private nonprofit elementary and secondary schools, their teachers, and their families with Title I services or other benefits that are equitable to those provided to eligible public school children, their teachers, and their families. The NCLB Program Coordination website lists Private Non-profit guidance under the Title I, Part A link and resources are intended to assist LEAs in meeting the statutory requirements.
