Behavior Support and Discipline

  • Region 3 ESC provides information, technical assistance, support, and professional development to assist districts, campuses, charter schools, and parents in the following areas:
  • Positive Behavior Support (PBS) - Services provided in positive behavior supports in cooperation with a comprehensive, statewide effort to address behavioral issues at three levels:
  • • School-wide climate
  • • Classroom management
  • • Individual interventions
  • Technical assistance to assist in effectively managing student behavior in the environment, from the whole campus to the individual student
  • Professional development in emotional and behavior disorders; functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans; evidence-based behavioral interventions and strategies; RtI for Behavior or Positive Behavior Supports (PBS); mental health issues, including mental health awareness and suicide prevention; behavior management and programming for specialized behavior classrooms; crisis intervention and prevention strategies; Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI); legal issues related to discipline with students with disabilities, and school climate
  • Collaboration with colleagues and districts in effectively programming and managing students with emotional and behavioral challenges
