The ESC Child Nutrition Program is designed to provide technical assistance to school district personnel with regard to food service management and compliance with all state and federal regulations governing the operation of the National School Lunch, School Breakfast Programs, After School Snack Program and Summer Feeding Programs.
Service areas are:
Provide technical assistance in all phases of program operations of school food service professional.
Provide on-site technical assistance to school districts scheduled for Coordinated Review Effort (CRE) reviews conducted by the Texas Department of Agriculture. These on-site visits will be prior to the CRE review and follow-up as needed to assist in developing and implementing corrective action.
Conduct a School Meal Initiative (SMI) evaluation of menu's for school districts scheduled for a CRE review by Texas Department of Agriculture.
Assist and coordinate training or technical assistance in implementation of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Menu Planning Systems in schools.
