Scholarships
Region 3 Education Service Center is proud to support the next generation of teachers, leaders, and changemakers through our Future Educators Scholarship Program. Thanks to the generosity and commitment of Region 3 ESC staff, we are awarding scholarships to aspiring educators across the Region 3 service area. Including one (1) $1,500 Laura Whitson Memorial Scholarship, honoring a legacy of service and dedication to education.
These scholarships represent more than financial assistance—they are an investment in students who are passionate about education and committed to making a difference in the lives of others.
These scholarships are intended for students who:

Are pursuing a career in education

Attend or have attended a school district within the Region 3 service area

Plan to enroll in or are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university educator preparation program
The Laura Whitson Memorial Scholarship holds special significance within Region 3. Named in honor of Dr. Laura Whitson, a lifelong educator and former Region 3 ESC Board of Directors member, this award reflects her unwavering dedication to student success and public education.
Applicants for this scholarship should demonstrate a strong commitment to education, leadership potential, and a passion for serving students—qualities that defined Dr. Whitson’s impact on Region 3.
Scholarship Amounts: Multiple awards of $1,000, one Laura Whitson Memorial Scholarship of $1,500
Use of Funds: Tuition, fees, books, or other education-related expenses
One Award per District: Only one scholarship will be awarded among apllicants from the same district.
Recognition: Region 3 ESC staff will attend scholarship ceremonies to present award certificates to recipients
Applications must be submitted by March 20, 2026
Students interested in being considered for a Region 3 ESC scholarship must complete the online application form below.
The application will ask for:
- Basic student and school information -
- Postsecondary education plans -
- Short response questions related to interest in education and future goals –
