Whether your child is in need of social engagement with other children or a place to swing, run and jump, our ECI building has something unique for every child and their family.

Specialty Services

Infant Massage

Infant massage is a brilliant way to touch and nurture your child. Using the techniques of Infant Massage developed by Vimala McClure are a magnificent way to further develop the parent/child relationship. Research shows that babies who are massaged: May sleep deeper and longer, spend more time active and alert for learning, increase bonding and attachments to their parents, and have improved elimination. Touch helps the parent and infant form a trusting secure relationship, stimulates brain development and promotes body awareness. Infant massage helps parents feel more comfortable in their parenting skills, be more aware of their baby, understand and respond to their baby’s cues, gives the parent time to relax and unwind, and can also help ease the stress of a working parent who is away from the child during the day.

Lactation Counseling

Lactation counseling services are available to improve the nursing experience for both mother and baby. Lactation services help with addressing weight gain, positioning, latching, pumping, milk supply, and pain while nursing. Lactation Counseling is available for mothers of babies enrolled in the ECI program.

Pathways

The Pathways Parent Training Program (PPTP) was developed specifically to teach parents to address the unique needs of their toddler with autism or autism like characteristics. Our early autism intervention program is based on the most current research on intervention for toddlers. We use an approach that promotes communication and social engagement; helping these children become active participants in their world. The PPTP is delivered in weekly sessions with the support of trained interventionists. Parents will learn skills and strategies to help them facilitate their child's learning and development. Parents will master new and powerful strategies and use them to address the core characteristics of autism which will change the way their child interacts with their social environment.

Unique Treatment Spaces

Calming Cove

Immerse you and your child in a multi-sensory calming environment of gentle lights, water and soothing sounds. This room is specially designed for children who need a relaxing space to help with self regulation and modulation, as well as stimulate interactions and engagement. Further, the calming cove will encourage communication, cause and effect skills and overall development to help your child meet their developmental milestones. Equipment utilized in this room includes: 2 interactive lighted bubble tube platforms with mirrors, a variety of large soft pillows, an unique pillow with fiber optic string lights, LED color wheel projector, light table with manipulatives, suspended mirror ball, tactile wall panels, adaptive switch toys and calming music.

Motor Gym

The ECI motor gym is equipped with therapy equipment to facilitate strength, coordination, motor skills, and sensory processing skills for all age groups. Children can enhance their gross motor and sensory processing by climbing the platform ladder to go down the slide, jumping into the foam pit, balancing on rocker boards and balls, as well as tumbling on the cushioned mats that cover the floor. The gym also includes an area for stationary play at the table where children can work on fine motor and visual motor skills such as coloring, puzzles, shape sorters etc. This unique area promotes functional play while teaching parents how to challenge their children to improve strength, coordination and self-regulation.

Calming Cove
