Transitional and Employment Designee

"Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine." - Roy T. Bennett

The Transition and Employment Designee, or TED, is the district or charter school contact for transition and employment services for students enrolled in special education programs.

The TED provides information and resources about transition planning and services. They facilitate communication and collaboration between students, parents, and staff adult support agencies to assist in the development and implementation of a successful transition plan to postsecondary goals for students receiving special education services. If students are already connected with a case manager in an adult agency, it is beneficial for the student to include the adult agency early in the transition planning process with the school district. The TED can facilitate the process for ensuring the participation of agency representation at the ARD meetings to plan the transition plan.

Contact the Special Education Department for the school district in which your child attends to receive the contact information regarding the TED for your child's district or charter school.
